Services:
*I am only accepting clients with a referral from either a current client of mine or a vet at this time.
Hoof Trimming:
I schedule routine appointments Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays with occasional Saturdays and evenings during the warmer months. I am available in case of EMERGENCY in the evenings and on weekends. This availability can fluctuate depending on my child care. I travel within 50 miles of Manchester Center, VT. If you are outside of that range, I may know someone else who can help you!
I am also available for giving presentations on Natural Hoof Care to groups such as 4-H and Pony Clubs, Trail Rider Associations or just groups of eager-to-learn horse owners.
I am also a certified mentor for PHCP and welcome students from April - November. The daily rate is $175 per day and I highly recommend 2 day mentorships for the best experience.
2025 Rates:
* Trip Fees for stops over 35 miles away - $5 for single horses and $10 for multiple
$55 - mini horses and donkeys
$65 - Standard horses, donkeys and mules
$80+ - Draft horses or mules
$175 per day - PHCP mentorship (hands on trimming of live horses that will count towards your current level)
*I do have an hourly rate for horses that are overdue for a trim or behave badly for any reason that causes me to take longer than usual to complete a trim
I accept payment by cash, personal check or venmo- Payment is due at the time of service for first-time clients. I will bill you after the first trim, if necessary, and then the payment is due within 10 days of service.
Thrush Remedies:
Things I keep in stock for sale:
Home-made Remedies:
*Note - I avoid any products that contain formadahyde or that are potentially causitic! Thrush infections can be very painful to your horse so you don't want to use anything on a potential wound that would hurt or that will kill good tissue along with the bad.
Hoof Armor:
"A tough, durable and protective, yet flexible abrasive resistant adhesive coating used to protect the bottom of a horse’s hoof from excessive wear and chipping." I will apply this at your regular trim visits for you or you can buy it and apply it yourself in between trims!
*I no longer carry hoof armor, but I encourage owners to buy it on their own and I am happy to teach you how to apply it!
