Services:

Hoof Trimming:  I schedule routine appointments Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8-2 and on occasional Saturdays and evenings during the warmer months. I am available in case of EMERGENCY in the evenings and on weekends. This availability can fluctuate depending on my child care. I travel within 50 miles of Manchester Center, VT. If you are outside of that range, I may know someone else who can help you!

I am also available for giving presentations on Natural Hoof Care to groups such as 4-H and Pony Clubs, Trail Rider Associations or just groups of eager-to-learn horse owners. Please contact me for rates and see my events page for upcoming talks you might be interested in! I am also a certified mentor for PHCP booking mentorships starting in the summer of 2020. Please contact me for availability and daily rate for mentorships.

2022 Rates:
* Trip Fees for stops over 10 miles away - $5 for single horses and $10 for multiple
$45 - mini horses and donkeys
$55 - Standard horses, donkeys and mules
$65+ - Draft horses or mules
$150 per day - PHCP mentorship (hands on trimming of live horses that will count towards your current level)
*I do have an hourly rate for horses that are overdue for a trim or behave badly for any reason that causes me to take longer than usual to complete a trim

I accept payment by cash, personal check or venmo-  Payment is due at the time of service for first-time clients.  I will bill you after the first trim, if necessary, and then the payment is due within 10 days of service.

Thrush Remedies:
Things I keep in stock for sale:
  • Red Horse Products -
    • Artimud (6.5 oz $25)
    • Can special order other products if necessary
  • Pure Sole Hoof Products-
    • Mud (8 oz $25, 16 oz $45)
    • Wax (7 oz. $28)

Home-made Remedies:
  • Apple Cider Vinegar: 1/2 and 1/2 either shallow soaks or in a spray bottle applied once weekly as a preventative measure. Most of us already have this on hand!
  • "Pete's Goo" - can be made yourself! Zinc oxide cream and copper sulfate crystals - I keep the syringes on hand and would be happy to give you one to start.

*Note - I avoid any products that contain formadahyde or that are potentially causitic! Thrush infections can be very painful to your horse so you don't want to use anything on a potential wound that would hurt or that will kill good tissue along with the bad.

Hoof Armor:
"A tough, durable and protective, yet flexible abrasive resistant adhesive coating used to protect the bottom of a horse’s hoof from excessive wear and chipping." I will apply this at your regular trim visits for you or you can buy it and apply it yourself in between trims!
  • Application at time of trim: $8 per hoof or $25 for all 4.
  • Starter kit: $60 (includes dispensing gun, 1 50 mL cartridge, 8 mixing tips and gloves)
  • Refill kit: $30 (all the above minus the dispensing gun)
Here are the booting/glue on options I offer from Easycare and Scoot Boot.

(There is always a possibility that I have the boots you are looking for used as well for a discounted price.  I cannot guarantee the availability of used products but I do accept boots in good shape for trade-in value!)
