Christina Krueger
PHCP Practitioner and Mentor
My exposure to and love of horses began at a local trail barn when I was 9 years old. I saved my pennies and bought an unbroke 2 year old appaloosa and started him myself when I was 15 with what I had picked up about natural horsemanship. The farrier I used for him was a big influence on me from the start. She was a hard working lady who did things her own way! I went on to graduate from Centenary College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Equine Studies with a concentration in Communications in 2009. I rode on every collegiate team and spent lots of time in the saddle and in the barn learning all I could.
Fast forward and here I am now! I have had a lot of different jobs in the equine industry and I've done a ton of riding in many different disciplines. I have been trimming professionally since 2012 and I have had the privilege of working with and learning from some of the best in the industry. I am a Certified Practitioner and through the Progressive Hoof Care Practitioners (PHCP) as well as a graduate of Ida Hammer's school of Whole Horse Hoof Care. I am the current president of PHCP and am excited to serve in this new role!
For continuing education, I go to several hoof related clinics, expos and summits each year as well as participate in several webinars and hands-on mentorships to further my education in the field. I am teaching and hosting webinars as well as hoof care classes for PHCP several times a year. I am a certified mentor through PHCP also and I enjoy helping student have their own "ah ha!" moments especially when evaluating a horse's movement before and after a trim.
My partner and I live in Manchester Center, Vermont with our two daughters. I don't currently own any horses of my own but I'm sure that won't always be the case! In the meantime, I am so fortunate to be in this line of work and I genuinely LOVE what I do!
